For Native American tribe owner of major casino, in two-and-a-half week breach of contract arbitration before a highly-experienced panel that included two retired judges, examined multiple witnesses, including cross-examination of claimant’s damages expert. Secured favorable award for client, which included a finding of no damages on claimant’s largest and central claim.

For investment advisor services provider, second chaired week-long arbitration involving breach of contract, breach of duty, embezzlement, and business tort claims. Examined multiple witnesses and secured complete award in favor of client.

In dispute among members of a real estate investment company for breach of contract and fiduciary duty, second chaired several-day arbitration and obtained a complete victory, which included specific performance of a buyout contract against the defendant member and recovery of legal fees for clients.

For real estate holding company owning portfolio of several investment properties, successfully defended a multi-year lawsuit in California state court brought by minority owner and former manager of the company alleging breach of contract, breach of duty, and business torts. The case settled favorably on the eve of jury selection and trial for a small fraction of the amount of damages sought by the plaintiff.

 In various contested and contentious estate administrations in California probate court, represented both trustees and beneficiaries in navigating challenges to administration and estate planning instruments as well as in ensuring proper distribution of assets, including sale of real property held in trust.

Represented founder and co-owner of major wholesale produce distributor in ownership dispute with other co-owner of the corporation in California state court. Briefed and argued multiple contested motions under California corporate shareholder buyout statute, achieving full control of the company for client.

For a managing member of a real estate holding company in a dispute with another member over control of the company’s principal property and interpretation of a buyout provision, drafted briefing and assisted in successful opposition of motion to appoint receiver to run the company and other injunctive relief, and drafted appellate briefing on buyout provision interpretation issues. Achieved settlement ensuring control of company to client.

Represented event ticket services software company in breach of contract and tort action in California state court against nine business entities and two individuals that had absconded with the client’s funds. Obtained judgment, secured liens on assets of judgment debtors, and executed collection of full amount owed to client.
